University of Glasgow - Schools - School of Engineering - Research - Research Divisions - Infrastructure and Environment. Supervisor. Dr Wei Liu. Description. Drawing on frameworks and tools from network modelling, optimization, economics, energy, data science, the overall objectives of this project are to discover and analyse behaviour patterns and mobility patterns in complex HSR systems, and to develop innovative modelling frameworks, efficient optimization algorithms for HSR systems to optimize the design and operation, thus to save people’s time and improve the effectiveness of the energy consumption. The developed models coupled with solving algorithms will be the pioneering studies that account for mixed behaviours (ticket- booking, route and departure time planning etc.) in HSR traveling, complexity of large- scale network, and dynamic feature of HSR operation. Also, the models and algorithms will be tested with real cases in Europe and China. High- speed railway (HSR) systems are developing in a growing number of countries/regions to connect major cities, including High Speed 1 and High Speed 2 in UK, cross- border HSR network in Europe (e. Eurostar connecting United Kingdom, France, and other countries), and country- wide network in, e. China, Japan. HSR systems are often in large- scale, and high- speed trains can cover relatively long distances in short times. For example, China has more than 1. UNCERTAINTY MODELING AND SIMULATION OF. The simulation model must reflect processes relevant to performance. On vous propose de venir vous d Passenger Terminal EXPO 2017 - 14. HSR routes while combined European HSR network has 7,3. However, little has been explored regarding the behaviour patterns (e. HSR systems, mainly due to data sources limitation. Moreover, how to efficiently and effectively deploy and operate large- scale and well- connected HSR systems in order to save travel time, reduce energy consumption, and improve system sustainability is still a challenging question, mainly due to the large- scale nature of HSR systems, and the dynamic nature of HSR operation (both vary within a day and over days and seasons).
